Olivier founded the Belgian Leadership Project in 2015. His vision was to establish a program for Belgian students, which would give them an opportunity to develop their skills, meet with professionals of different sectors, and connect with other young leaders from across the country.

Idris is reading for a master’s degree in law at the Catholic University of Leuven (KUL). Idris interned at the cabinet of the Belgian Minister of Justice, the European Seniors Union and he was administrative support for professor Steven Van Hecke. He is also an avid cyclist and loves the outdoors.


Alexandra SmarandescuAlexandra
Alexandra is a law student at the Free University of Brussels (VUB). She is active in student politics and is the current President of the Flemish Youth Council. She represented Belgium in 2015 at Women2Women, an international women leadership program organized annually in Boston by the American NGO ‘Empower Peace’.


Raphaëlle is a political science PhD student at the University of Liège. She recently undertook internships at the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, and at the European Parliament in Brussels.




Thomas is reading for a master of law at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL). He previously graduated in laws from the University of Namur. Thomas spent a year as an exchange student in the United States, and has been very active in the Model United Nations circuit.

Julien graduated with a degree in business engineering from the Louvain School of Management, specializing on microfinance. He has been involved in a volunteering project for disabled and blind persons, and has interned in Indonesia, Tanzania, Brazil and Croatia.


Yasmine is a first year political science student at St-Louis University in Brussels. She has been involved as a Young Ambassador on European affairs at the Belgian Youth Council for the past two years. She is also an activist within the NGO ‘Plan International’.
